One would not usually think that the timing of day would be such a huge influence on how much things cost. However, it actually has a huge impact. You could possibly serve tiny items, which are interesting and fun, rather than a huge meal which will definitely cost you more. So if you're looking at a dinner reception, expect to spend a bit more money.
As well, you have to think about the theme of your wedding. Each theme sets a different tone at the wedding, where different food is expected to be served. Depending on what food is expected, you will have to spend certain amounts of money.
